TEPCO has released the first photos of the new cooling equipment to be installed at Fukushima Daiichi No. 1 first, and then probably at the other two plants within a short period of time. Ten units will be installed at No. 1 plant.
Below, a shot of the air heat exchanger.
And, below, a shot of two electrically driven cooling fans. The electric motor on the near unit, with cooling fins and terminal box, is clearly visible as are the shroud covering the sheaves and belt. The arrow sticker indicates direction of rotation (seen on fan shroud.)
