Kashiwazaki Kariwa is the largest nuclear power station in the world in terms of generating capacity, with an aggregate total of 8218 MWe net available from seven reactor plants. Nos. 1 through 5 are 1100 MWe BWR plants while nos. 6 and 7 are 1356 MWe ABWR plants.

Details: Plants No. 1, 5, 6 and 7 are on line. Plants 2, 3 and 4 were in normal shutdown prior to the earthquake.
