As a matter of record, Pacific Gas & Electric declared a status of "Unusual Event" at its Diablo Canyon Station, San Luis Obispo, California as a result of a requirement to do so following receipt of a Tsunami warning for the area. PG&E stated, however, that both reactor plants were operating normally.
Diablo Canyon 1 & 2 are Westinghouse PWR plants. Westinghouse was awarded the contract for these plants in November 1966, with AEC construction permits issued in 1968 and 1970. The plants are four loop Pressurized Water, rated presently at 3411 MWt / 1120 MWe. These plants have been uprated from their original rating of 1060 MWe.
The latest status for both plants available to us is both are on the grid at one hundred percent rated power.
