Info Post
FINALLY, we're starting to get some actual in-plant readings out of Fukushima Daiichi.

Apparently No. 3 plant's reactor vessel external temperature instrument started working Saturday again, and read 366C or 690F, which is way too high, so that TEPCO quickly increased seawater core input.

No. 1's identical instrument read 394C at 3:30 PM local Tuesday, or 741F.

edit: Design limit is 302C or 575F.
Both the instruments for No. 1 and No. 2 started working Sunday.

Perhaps now that the sun is coming up in Japan we'll get some details. It's starting to look like it if the first releases for the morning, Tokyo time, include actual measured primary plant data.
