All three are General Electric BWR (Boiling Water Reactor) plants. The first, No. 1 is the oldest and was built by GE while the other two are slightly newer and were joint GE-Toshiba projects. Toshiba remains a partner of GE in many plants and projects worldwide.

Fukushima Daiichi 3: 2381 MWt/ 760 MWe. First online 1974.
These plants are very roughly the same age as Nine Mile Point 1, a GE BWR located near Oswego, New York, whose construcion was started before Daiichi 1 and which went online at about the same time. We will show an illustration in our files from the old visitor center with some brief description; the illustration shows the large cutaway scale model of the typical GE BWR plant of the time.
On the left we can see the reactor, inside of a large primary containment which has at its base a toroidal pressure suppression volume. The large building is the "secondary containment," the "primary" being the large drywell containing the primary reactor system. On the right in front of the group of students and their teacher is the turbine generator building.
